Maton S60 Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar
Maton S60 - Maton have improved the neck geometry, bracing patterns and body construction of their acoustic guitars with stunning results.
Improved production methods have made it possible to produce these all solid timber guitars more effectively than ever before and the playability and tonal benefits are amazing. The backs and tops of these guitars are able to resonate more freely and have a huge dynamic range.
Improved neck/body geometry produces a neck that is a joy to play. Difficult chord shapes and complex single note runs are much easier to execute and increased tonal response improves acoustic projection. A bone nut and saddle ensure maximum tone and sustain.
The S60 is finished in Maton's tuned Satin pre-catalysed Nitro finish.
PLEASE NOTE: Models produced after June 2024 will be using a Bunya Pine top instread of Spruce, please see statement from Maton copied below:
Effective July 2024, the following Maton models will transition from their current spruce (Picea) soundboard models to Bunya Pine (Araucaria bidwillii). This applies to the EM-6, S60 & SRS60C models. Throughout our long history (est. 1946) we at Maton have continuously endeavoured to source, test and pioneer the use of locally sourced sustainable timbers. In the late 1990’s this process led us to successfully pioneering the use of Bunya Pine. Indeed, to this day we successfully use bunya on the Performer as well as Australian series guitars.
In furthering this strategy of increasing the Australian component throughout our range, we are transitioning the above models to Bunya soundboards. In arriving at this decision, many elements of our business and those related were considered. We have always pursued a consistent strategy of, where possible, sourcing local product that is sustainable and encourages the use of Australian labour, whilst not compromising our high quality. We believe this transition is true to all of these deliverables and importantly, reduces the impact of the ongoing trend being encountered in the sustainable sourcing of imported tonewoods including Spruce.
